We are pleased to share that members of the Ineye Therapeutics R&D team have co-authored a new peer-reviewed article published in Discover Materials (Springer Nature, 2025), titled “Quality by design & failure mode and effects analysis applied to the eco-friendly synthesis of PCL-co-PEG copolymers.”
This study, led by Marcos Mariz and Paula Ferreira, reports a green, solvent-free approach to synthesize biodegradable and biocompatible PCL/PEG copolymers — the same family of materials at the core of Ineye’s controlled drug delivery technology.
By integrating Quality by Design (QbD) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies, the researchers established a systematic framework to ensure process reproducibility and material consistency — key principles for translating innovative materials into safe and effective medical products.
“This publication strengthens the scientific foundation of Ineye’s platform and underscores our dedication to developing biocompatible materials through environmentally responsible processes.” – Marcos Mariz and Paula Ferreira
The article is available open access via Discover Materials (DOI: 10.1007/s43939-025-00401-9).
